been a year since the bands debut album Blow Up (Nacional) dropped in the United States, but fans are still excited as ever to catch Bomba Estreo live. The success has been a quick climb with appearances at two high-profile festivalsSXSW and Bonnarooand a string of national tour dates thereafter where this Colombian group has captured fans at every stop.
In Brooklyn this July, where the band staged an outdoor show, the rain was pouring and people ran desperately for cover. If the rain didnt affect the masses, the humidity definitely didbut luckily, it wasn't enough to scare the audience away. By the time Bomba Estreo walked on stage, Prospect Park Bandshell was packed.
The music started, and the crowd stayed calm for a moment. But after five minutes of tranquil jamming [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], lead singer Liliana Saumet shot out with high adrenaline, and the crowd quickly followed her lead as she waved her hands and danced wildly.
Even in the humidity, Saumet was full of energy as Simn Meja (bass), Kike Egurrola (drums), and Julin Salazar (guitar) rocked out beside her. Saumet ran, danced, and wailed on stage while Salazar joined in with his own moves and looked fresh in his purple skinny jeans.

The audience danced along to the beat and competed with Saumet on nabbing the title for the best hip shaker. Then there were the fans who failed in the hip-shaking department and opted for moshing instead.
